Privacy policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

Chess Cheaters is built to know as little about you as possible. This page explains what happens to your information on chesscheaters.com and in the Chess Cheaters Android app.

The short version

What happens when you run a check

Your device sends the usernames you enter straight to the public APIs of Chess.com and Lichess, which send back public game records and account statuses. These requests go from your device to those sites, not through us, and are covered by the Chess.com privacy policy and the Lichess privacy policy.

The opponent names and account statuses in a report are public information published by Chess.com and Lichess. We don't store or publish them anywhere.

What's saved on your device

To make your next check faster, your browser or the app keeps the game summaries and opponent statuses it has already downloaded. This stays on your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, or the app's storage in your phone's settings. If you share a report link, the usernames are part of that link.

What our providers see

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles standard technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attacks. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page opens. If we count visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or identify you.

The Android app

The app works the same way as the website, and everything on this page applies to it.

Children

Chess Cheaters is not aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we don't collect or keep personal data, there's nothing on our side to look up, export or delete. You still have rights under laws such as Brazil's LGPD and the EU's GDPR, and you're welcome to write to us about anything on this page.
